Phone verification and one-time codes
Last updated: July 14, 2026
To keep the network safe, Moov verifies your phone number before you receive money. Usually this means entering a one-time code we text you.
How it works
When you claim a payment, we send a one-time code by text message.
Enter the code to confirm it's you.
Once verified, you can continue and receive your money.
If you've set up a passkey, you can verify with that instead of a code.
If you didn't get a code
Double-check the phone number and make sure you have signal.
Wait a few moments, then choose resend if it's available.
Check that your messages aren't being filtered or blocked.
Keep your code private
Your one-time code is for you only. Never share it with anyone, even someone claiming to be from Moov, your bank, or the sender. Moov will never call or text you to ask for your code. If someone asks for it, it's a scam.
Good to know
Codes are time-sensitive and expire after a short while for your security. If yours expires, request a new one.
For security, there are limits on how often codes can be sent and how many times a code can be entered incorrectly. If you get locked out, wait a bit and try again.
If you receive a code you didn't request, don't share it; someone may be trying to claim a payment that isn't theirs.
