Setting up and using a passkey

Last updated: July 14, 2026

A passkey is a fast, secure way to prove it's you the next time you receive money using your device's fingerprint, face, or screen lock instead of a one-time code. There's no password to remember, steal, or reuse.

How to set up a passkey

After you receive a payment, Moov Money may offer to create a passkey. To set one up:

  1. Choose the option to create a passkey when it's offered.

  2. Confirm with your device's fingerprint, face, or screen lock.

  3. Your passkey is saved securely on your device.

How to use a passkey

The next time you open a Moov Money link and need to verify it's you, choose to use your passkey and confirm with your fingerprint, face, or screen lock.

Good to know

  • A passkey is tied to your device and your verified phone number, which helps protect your money.

  • You can still use a one-time text code to verify if you prefer, or if you're on a device without your passkey.

  • Passkeys can't be phished the way codes and passwords can, which makes them a safer option.
