What is Moov Money?

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Moov Money is a simple, secure way to send money to another person. Instead of asking for someone's bank details, the sender starts a payment and shares a secure link. The recipient opens the link, verifies their phone number, and receives the money to a debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, usually within minutes.

Many people use Moov Money through their bank or another financial institution, which powers the "send money to friends" experience behind the scenes.

What you can do with Moov Money

  • Send money to someone using a secure link.

  • Receive money by opening a link and choosing where the funds should go.

  • Cancel a payment before the recipient claims it.

What Moov Money is not

  • It is not a stored-balance wallet. Money is delivered straight to your debit card or mobile wallet — there's no Moov Money balance to hold funds.

  • It does not link to your bank account with an account and routing number. Recipients receive money using a debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

  • It is not a way to pay businesses or accept card payments. Moov Money is for sending money between people.

Good to know

  • There are no fees to send or receive money with Moov Money.

  • You'll need to verify your phone number the first time you receive money.

  • To receive money, you'll need a US-issued Visa or Mastercard debit card (or Apple Pay or Google Pay backed by one).
