How Moov Money works

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Moov Money moves money from one person to another using a secure link. Here's the full journey from start to finish.

1. The sender starts a payment

The sender enters an amount and, optionally, a short note about what the payment is for. This happens inside their bank's or financial institution's app. Moov Money generates a secure claim link for the payment.

2. The recipient gets a link

The sender shares the link with the recipient, usually by text message. The link looks like:

https://moov.money/c/...

The link is unique to that payment and is valid for 10 days.

3. The recipient opens and accepts the payment

When the recipient opens the link, they'll see who sent the money, the amount, and any note. They accept the payment to continue.

4. The recipient verifies their phone number

To keep the network safe, the recipient verifies their identity with a one-time code sent by text message, or with a passkey if they've set one up before.

5. The recipient chooses where to receive the money

The recipient picks how to get paid:

  • Apple Pay or Google Pay, or

  • A US-issued Visa or Mastercard debit card.

6. The money arrives

Once confirmed, the funds are sent to the chosen card or wallet — usually within minutes. Exactly when the money becomes available can depend on the recipient's bank.

Good to know

  • The recipient does not need to download an app or open a bank account to receive money.

  • The claim link is what unlocks the payment, so it should be treated like a private message and never shared with anyone else.
