How to cancel a payment
Last updated: July 14, 2026
You can cancel a payment any time before the recipient claims it. Once a payment is cancelled, the recipient can no longer use the link, and the money isn't sent. Your financial institution will return any funds to you.
When you can cancel
Before the recipient claims the payment — cancelling is available while the payment is still waiting to be accepted or claimed.
After the recipient has received the money — cancelling is no longer possible. A completed payment can't be reversed or refunded through Moov Money.
How to cancel
Open the app or service you used to send the payment.
Find the payment you want to cancel.
Select the option to cancel the payment.
Once cancelled, the recipient will see a "Payment cancelled" message if they open the link.
If you can't cancel
If the payment has already been claimed, it can't be cancelled or refunded. If you sent money to the wrong person or believe you were scammed, see:

Good to know
Cancelling a payment does not charge a fee.
If a payment isn't claimed within 10 days, it expires on its own. See 📄 What happens if my payment isn't claimed
