Things Moov will never ask you to do

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Scammers often pretend to be from Moov. Use this checklist to spot them. If someone asks you to do any of the following, it's a scam.

Moov will never:

  • Ask you for the one-time code we text you. That code is private; never share it with anyone.

  • Ask you to send money back to "release," "unlock," or "verify" a payment.

  • Charge you a fee to receive money. Sending and receiving are free.

  • Ask you to move your money to a "safe" or "verification" account.

  • Ask for your full card number, PIN, or online banking password by phone, text, or email.

  • Pressure you to act urgently or threaten you to make a payment.

  • Contact you out of the blue and ask you to install software or grant remote access to your device.

If someone does any of these

Stop and don't continue. Don't share codes or send money. If you were contacted by someone claiming to be from Moov, don't respond to that message. Instead, reach out to us through the official help center.
